Improving Football Dribbling Learning Outcomes Through a Play-Based Approach

Abstract

The monotony of learning to dribble a ball at the elementary school level makes students bored. This study aims to improve learning outcomes in dribbling a ball in soccer games by using a play approach. The subjects of this study were all 24 fifth-grade students of elementary school Kertawaluya III. The research method used an action research method with the Kemmis and Taggart design. The results obtained were that in the pre-cycle, the average student score was 64.58 with 62.5% of students not yet completing the task, while 37.5% had completed the task. In the first cycle, the average student score increased to 68.75 with 25% of students not yet completing the task, while 75% had completed the task. And in the second cycle, the average student score increased to 74.17 with 12.5% ​​of students not yet completing the task, while 87.5% had completed the task. Based on these results, it can be concluded that by using a play approach, learning outcomes in dribbling a ball in soccer games improve. Thus, physical education teachers can use a play approach in their teaching process.
